Most porch swing beds are symmetrical — two armrests, two side rails, one way in. Designed with accessibility in mind, the Sullivan’s Island breaks that mold. One side rail is removed, leaving an open entry that allows access from two directions. It’s a design feature that seems simple, but changes the entire experience of this coastal bed swing.
Ease of use aside, the single rail approach allows the Sullivan’s Island to work in space configurations that would be impossible for a two-rail design. Porches with support columns in awkward positions, L-shaped porches where one side needs to stay clear, narrow porches where you want to maximize depth, you name it; this coastal bed swing solves all of these problems effortlessly and with style.

At 24.5″ high, The Sullivan’s Island has the lowest profile of any swing bed we build. Combined with the open-side entry, this creates a remarkably approachable piece of furniture — it sits low, it opens wide, and it invites you in.
