The Most a Minimalist Can Get
Most people discover the Savannah while comparing our models and notice something surprising: the most affordable teak swing bed in our collection is also the one built exclusively from tropical hardwoods. Every Savannah starts with hand-selected A-Grade Teak or A-Grade Mahogany, woods prized by furniture makers worldwide for their natural durability, beauty, and resistance to the elements. That’s not an accident: the Savannah is a pure expression of what great wood and clean lines can do together, no paint to hide behind, no ornate details to distract. Where the Charlotte leans modern-elegant and the Edisto leans farmhouse, the Savannah occupies its own lane: contemporary minimalism, built for people drawn to modern architecture, mid-century design, or Scandinavian aesthetics.
Craftsman Construction, Built by Hand
Every Savannah is hand-built in our Charleston workshop using the same mortise-and-tenon joinery and construction standard as every model we make. Its minimalist frame skips ornamentation in favor of clean joinery and a quieter silhouette, letting the hardwood itself carry the piece. One detail worth knowing: like every model, the Savannah’s mattress support slats are cut from pine (even though the visible frame is Teak or Mahogany) unless you request otherwise at the time of order. See our guide to choosing swing bed materials and what FSC-certified wood means.
Why Tropical Hardwoods Only
We made a deliberate decision to offer the Savannah in just two wood species, and both are premium hardwoods:
- A-Grade Teak: Widely considered the finest outdoor wood in the world. Its naturally high oil content makes it resistant to moisture, rot, insects, and UV damage without any finish required. Left unfinished, Teak develops a beautiful silver-grey patina over time; oiled periodically, it maintains a warm, honey-gold tone.
- A-Grade Mahogany: Brings warmth, depth, and richness no other wood can match. Tight, interlocking grain resists warping and cracking; natural oils provide genuine rot resistance. Accepts stain beautifully if you want to deepen or shift its reddish-brown tone.
Both woods are sourced at the highest commercially available lumber grade.
Wood Type: A-Grade Teak, A-Grade Mahogany
Finish Options
- Unfinished / Oiled Teak: The most popular Savannah configuration.
- Stained Mahogany: Popular choices include Early American, Weathered Oak, and Dark Walnut.
- Sealed / Clear Coat: A protective clear finish preserving natural color, available on both Teak and Mahogany.
- Painted: Both woods can be painted, though most Savannah customers prefer to showcase the natural hardwood.

Built for Porch & Outdoor Living
Teak’s natural resistance to moisture, rot, and pests makes it especially well-suited to the Lowcountry’s humid, salt-air climate, exactly the environment we build and test in here in Charleston. The Savannah is a true chameleon in the spaces it thrives in: concrete porches, steel-railing balconies, contemporary pool decks, modern screened patios, sunrooms, you name it.
- Warranty: 2-year warranty on the swing and 1-year warranty on cushions, against craftsmanship defects.
